Gullfoss is an intelligent automatic equalizer that uses Soundtheory’s unique audio perception technology to identify and fix problems in the frequency balance of your signal. By adjusting its real-time settings according to the audio characteristics of the input signal, Gullfoss allows you to quickly and accurately fix problems that would otherwise be unsolvable or would require a lot of time and experience to solve. Gullfoss is an easy-to-use instrument for everyone from amateur musician to professional mastering engineer. Its clean user interface offers a set of basic parameters that can be customized to improve the clarity, detail, spatiality, and balance of a mix or record in a matter of seconds. Gullfoss is even able to fix balancing problems between different sound elements without access to individual tracks. The internal auditory model allows Gullfoss to make objective decisions about the perceived sound. As a result, mixes processed with Gullfoss will usually be more consistently translated between different listening situations. Equipped with a new patented equalizer technology, Gullfoss processes sound with unmatched sound quality. The equalizer is able to change the frequency response more than 100 times per second and not enter audible artifacts or degrade the signal quality. Together with soundtheory’s highly developed computer auditory perception model, Gullfoss is the first and only product of its kind.
All three versions of Gullfoss have the same treatment, but have been slightly modified to better adapt them to different situations. The Gullfoss Standard is the most versatile device in which precision is achieved through CPU utilization, while the new Gulflfoss Master places higher demands on your computer’s resources, but uses an “advanced auditory model” configured for mastering, as well as providing the user with more precise control permission. At the same time, the Liveversion of Gullfoss uses fewer transients and thus can operate with a lower latency of 2 ms (compared to 20 ms in other versions).
